What's In The Box?

Habit Tips to Live By - Your Results Are a Product of Your Thoughts

You've likely heard over and over that your actions determine your results.  And while that is true most of the time, do you know what determines your actions?  Your thoughts do.  Without changing your thoughts, it's going to be next to impossible to change your actions long-term.  Here's how it breaks down:

Event - this is a neutral situation.  The only thing that makes it bad or good is the way you think about it.

Thought - this is what causes you joy or pain.  If you have a positive thought about the event, then you feel happy.  If you have a negative thought about the event, you feel pain.

Feelings - Your thoughts are what create feelings.  If you want to change the feeling, change the thought.

Actions - How you feel determines what you do.  Feeling excited and happy?  You will usually be productive and take on new challenges with optimism.  Feeling depressed and worn out?  Chances are you will stay in bed or walk through your day like a zombie.

Results - If you truly want to know why you are getting a particular result in your life, looking at the items above will usually tell you.

Nothing ages you like being President or being out in the sun unprotected.  I don't know about you though, but the last thing I want to feel during the summer is that I have a mound of lotion and makeup on my face.  Thankfully I found this sunscreen.  Not only is it mineral-based which is healthier, but it feels light as air and evens out my complexion so I don't need to wear makeup.

We've all been warned of the dangers of credit cards and debt, and with good reason.  However, for those of us who have finally learned how to manage our money and get out of debt, credit cards don't have to be our nemesis.  As long as you don't spend money you don't have, AND you pay your balance in full, there are quite a few credit cards out there that can benefit you.  This article from Lookout Credit Union has some valuable advice for using your credit cards to your advantage.

Home - Car Clutter Organizer

It never fails that when I need to give someone a ride, my car is looking less than orderly.  Not anymore though.  Now that I have this handy car organizer/trash can, I have no reason to leave papers or water bottles in my car.  I simply toss them in the receptacle and make it a recurring habit to empty the trash bin.
